TYPES OF CASES

Extreme Hardship/

An immigration hardship waiver is a form of relief in US immigration law that allows certain individuals facing deportation to remain in the United States if they can demonstrate that their removal would cause exceptional and extremely unusual hardship to a qualifying relative who is a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

U Visa

The U visa aims to protect immigrant crime victims and encourage cooperation with law enforcement. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate they have been a victim of a qualifying criminal activity, have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse, possess information about the crime, and have been, are, or will be helpful to law enforcement.

Asylum

An asylum seeker is an individual who has left their home country and is seeking international protection in another country, specifically because they fear persecution or harm. They have not yet been legally recognized as a refugee by the country they are seeking refuge in. Essentially, they are requesting asylum, which is the protection granted to refugees.

T Visa

A T visa is a special type of visa designed to protect victims of human trafficking. It allows eligible individuals to remain in the United States temporarily and work, while also offering a pathway to lawful permanent residency. The T visa is intended for those who have been subjected to "severe forms of trafficking in persons" and who cooperate with law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of the trafficking case.

Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is a U.S. federal law designed to protect victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. It provides various legal protections and resources, including housing assistance, legal assistance, and access to victim services.
